Talking about experiences

In this lesson you practiced talking about personal experiences and recent actions, focusing on past forms and simple statements. The tutor guided you through corrections for present perfect and past simple, and you practiced talking about meeting people, watching movies, and doing homework.

Talking about movies and language barriers

  • Explained you haven't seen the Spider-Man movie yet because it's in German
  • Corrected the sentence: 'I haven't seen the Spider-Man movie yet'
  • Practiced saying you don't understand German and why you couldn't watch it

Meeting people and family

  • Talked about meeting your boyfriend's parents and described them as very nice
  • Corrected: 'I have already met my boyfriend's parents' for clarity
  • Mentioned you told them about your English class and worries

Homework, studying and recent actions

  • Explored difficulty with homework: 'I couldn't do the homework' corrected
  • Practiced present perfect vs past simple with 'I have studied English for one month'
  • Said you cooked recently: 'I have cooked for ten minutes' practiced

Para recordar

Present perfect tense

The present perfect tense is used to describe actions that happened at an unspecified time before now or actions that have relevance to the present. It is formed with 'have/has' + past participle. Ejemplos

  • I have cooked so far ten minutes.
  • I haven't seen the Spider Man movie yet.

  • The movie doesn't have subtitles.: con the movie, usamos doesn't have, no doesn't has.
  • I like them. They're very nice.: them recibe la acción de like; they es sujeto de are.
  • with him, no with he: después de with usamos el pronombre objeto.

Ever suele preguntar «alguna vez»; never significa «nunca».

El ejemplo automático I have cooked so far ten minutes no debe memorizarse. Para una actividad que continúa: I've been cooking for ten minutes. Para estudiar desde hace un mes: I've been studying English for a month. Estas correcciones son ampliación, no contenido obligatorio A1.

Tarea
