Using relative clauses

La clase practicó cláusulas relativas para describir personas, lugares y cosas con who, where, that y which. La tutora trabajó la unión de ideas cortas y corrigió orden de palabras, pronombres innecesarios, plurales y formas verbales.

Resumen

In this lesson you practiced forming sentences with who, which, and where to describe people, places, and things. You worked on combining short ideas into full sentences and the tutor corrected word order, commas, and verb forms to make descriptions clearer.

Describing people with 'who'

  • Practiced sentences like 'My boyfriend who helped me with my homework.'
  • Corrected word order and removed extra pronouns in your sentences

Describing places with 'where' and 'which'

  • Practiced 'the park where I relax' and 'a museum which had old cars.'
  • Worked on comma use for extra information in place descriptions

Combining ideas and verb forms

  • Practiced 'I bought a game that you recommended.'
  • Tutor corrected verb forms, plurals, and helped with sentence clarity

Para recordar

Relative clauses

Relative clauses use pronouns like 'who' for people and 'which' for things to add extra information about a noun. Commas are used for non-restrictive clauses.

  • The dog which lives next door is friendly.
  • Our car, which is ten years old, still works well.
Apuntes de la clase en español

Correcciones, pronunciación y práctica preparadas a partir de esta clase. No las escribió tu profesora.

Como la etapa activa es consolidación A1, semana 4, las cláusulas relativas se conservan como ampliación opcional de la clase. El repaso prioritario se mantiene en presente simple y tercera persona: The teacher who helps me is very patient y new technology develops very quickly.

Para repasar

  • who conecta una persona con información adicional: The person who helps me is my boyfriend.
  • where conecta un lugar con lo que ocurre allí: This is the park where we play football.
  • that puede identificar una cosa: I bought the game that you recommended.
  • Después de many, usa un sustantivo plural: many museums.
  • En presente simple, una cosa singular lleva -s: technology develops; una persona singular también: the teacher helps.
  • Para pedir repetición de forma natural: Could you repeat that, please?

Pronunciación

Preply señaló future, think, repeat y modern.
