Change over time phrases
- Practiced replacing 'used to' with 'anymore' and 'no longer' in sentences
- Corrected negative forms: 'doesn't live here anymore', 'doesn't visit them now'
La clase con Alianna J. practicó cómo decir que una situación cambió: anymore, no longer y still. Después se retomaron expresiones de tiempo en situaciones de museos, citas, formularios y compras. Se pasó de frases cortas a reformulaciones más largas.
Using 'anymore' and time expressions
You practiced using words to show change over time (anymore / no longer / still) and time expressions (on time, in time, at the end). The lesson moved from short example sentences to longer examples and corrections, focusing on correct forms and pronunciation.
Correcciones, pronunciación y práctica preparadas a partir de esta clase. No las escribió tu profesora.
not … anymore significa «ya no»: He doesn't live with his parents anymore. Después de doesn't, el verbo va en forma base.no longer ya expresa negación: He no longer wants to be a doctor. No se combina con doesn't en este sentido. Con be, va después del verbo: We're no longer classmates. La alternativa es We're not in the same class anymore.any more, separado, pregunta por una cantidad adicional: Are there any more cookies? No tiene el sentido temporal de anymore. La corrección automática sobre «pieces of cake» cambia también la intención afirmativa a negativa; no permite confirmar qué se quiso decir.still significa «todavía»: para preguntar si continúa un hábito, Do you still play tennis? El ejemplo automático Do you still play tennis anymore? mezcla dos preguntas; otra opción natural es Do you play tennis anymore?in time to + verbo indica que alcanza el tiempo: We arrived in time to see everything at the museum. On time indica puntualidad según un horario; no son intercambiables automáticamente. She sent everything on Thursday evening. Usá on con un día y su parte del día.closes at five (tercera persona con -s) y el contraste finished / finishes. No hay suficiente contexto para reconstruir todas las oraciones originales.at the end: punto final de algo, como en at the end of the TV program.
(Used in negative sentences) At the present time; no longer; from now on.
